Thanks to our Greg, Cake for Lily have joined the internet social revolution that is MySpace (“the website that encourages you to think of your friends as marketing statistics”). For which we owe him a debt of gratitude, and more importantly, ale.
While we suspected that MySpace would help spread the word and give us extra potential exposure, neither of us were really relishing the task of getting to grips with the site and bending it to our will. So thanks to Greg for stepping up and forcing MySpace to submit to his Jedi-like mind.
If you would like to add Cake for Lily to your friends list, then you can aim your browser at www.myspace.com/cakeforlily. The e.p is up there now, so we can soundtrack all your interweb activities. Should you so wish.
Now, I might be the only person who finds this a little unnerving, but one of our first MySpace friends was Gram Parsons. This was really quite flattering as Gram is one of my big musical hero’s, and I’ve been a fan of his work for years. But it’s also rather creepy, because damn, he’s been dead since 1973. Apparently MySpace’s insidious tentacles have even permeated through to the afterlife. Still, if Gram likes our music then thats good enough for me, wherever he is.
Cake for Lily dot com will still be our primary home on t’interweb, so stay tuned to this site, but please visit our MySpace to hear the e.p in its full glory, or just to add us to your list of marketing statistics. Sorry, I mean friends.
